Our staff offers civil engineering services for residential and commercial subdivisions, public water and wastewater systems, and land use planning. Each project’s success is a culmination of our extensive experience with planning and designing land developments, coordinating with permitting agencies, and working with local jurisdictions to gain approval.

Town of Sheridan municipal water supply improvements

Sheridan’s water supply infrastructure was aging and no longer capable of meeting demand for summer irrigation and fire flow. Northern Rockies Engineering prepared a Preliminary Engineering Report (PER), Environmental Report, and USDA Rural Development grant application that was successful in obtaining a $1 million grant and $450K loan for this important well and transmission pipeline project.

Middle Creek Parklands Subdivision

The developer of the 250-lot Middle Creek Parklands Subdivision in Bozeman, Montana envisioned a community design which would complement the surrounding environment. Our team worked with the developer to design an attractive neighborhood with an emphasis on open space. We provided an array of civil engineering solutions including roads, walking trails, connection to public water and sewer system, wells and pumping facilities, and storm water control.

Yellowstone Commercial Center

This attractive commercial development near Belgrade, Montana has fourteen commercial buildings for rent. We provided site planning, civil engineering of the public water and wastewater systems, stormwater engineering, and Gallatin County planning approvals.

Alpenglow Condominium

The Alpenglow Condominiums are a residential vacation development with views of magnificent Lone Peak located in Big Sky, Montana. Our engineers provided site design, construction management, and public water and sewer hookup which included an extension of public sewer through close coordination and approval by the Big Sky Water and Sewer District.

Lined Tailings Impoundment

We provided engineering and construction oversight of this gold mine tailings impoundment. Our design used a composite geosynthetic clay liner (GCL) and welded HDPE geomembrane. We also engineered run-on/run-off controls.
